BigVino.com
Carleton and Lana Van Selman, well known hoteliers and wine connoisseurs asked Gandy-Draper to produce a website for their new Lanzarote wine merchants business Bigvino.com.
BigVino as well as providing fine wines to Lanzarote bars and restaurants also offer a service to both residents and tourists can have wine delivered to their home or accommodation by the case. A new service to the island which will no doubt be more than welcomed buy its wine enthusiasts.
The site can be regularly updated with Lana’s wine articles, latest offers, new products and contains a shopping cart so wines can be ordered online.
Discover and Recover
Yvonne Lonergan approached Gandy-Draper when launching her new business Discover and Recover, which provides holidays and therapies for people suffering from Eating Distress. Gandy-Draper had previously created a couple of websites for her husband Paul’s businesses so were a natural choice when it came to produce a new site.
The brief was to create a bright, friendy and easy to use website that reflects the philosophy of the business and is easy for Yvonne to update herself as the services offered change and develop over time.
British Surgery of Lanzarote
The first website built by Gandy-Draper in 2006 was for Dr Miguel Medina who owns and operates the British Surgery of Lanzarote. Based in Puerto del Carmen the multi lingual surgery caters to English, German, and of course Spanish speakers. Dr Medina spent a number of years working with the NHS so has the knowledge necessary to undertand the needs of his British clients.
Over time, all websites tend to age in technology and design and Dr Medina approached Gandy-Draper to refresh his online image and improve the SEO in line with the lastest practices.
Dove Lanzarote
Ben and Diane the owners of Dove Lanzarote approached Gandy-Draper having seen some websites previously developed for friends of theirs.
At the time Ben and Diane had a problem their previous web designers (not based on the island) and had lost all of the previous site. The brief was to obtain control of the domain name and to create a new site that retained most of the look and feel of the old site whilst also adding to it.
Looking very like the original the new site also includes a Flash banner of photographs (mostly from Gandy-Draper’s own stock) to add life to the home page.
Villa Azul
Mike and Jules the owners of Villa Azul in Playa Blanca asked Gandy-Draper to create a website to supplement the promotion the property was getting via local letting agents.
Mike has been a prominent member of the Canary Nightlife Forum – which is part of the Gandy-Draper owned and run Canary Nightlife website, so it seemed a natural choice for Mike and Jules to approach Gandy-Draper when it came time to build a website for their business.
The website is a relatively clean and simple site which offers a slide show of pictures of their very impressive villa, and extensive local information, including a map of Playa Blanca , showing some of the key facilities of interest to their guests, and testimonials.
Camel House Concerts
Camel House Concerts, is the brainchild of concert pianist Paul Crossley and Lanzarote resident Sir Ernest Hall. They have refurbished an old Camel Shed to house an annual series of concerts by world class musicians. Concerts are open to members who join by subscription, and private and corporate subscription.
The website, in addition to providing subscription information and information about the artists and performances, includes separate areas for members only, and information for artists travelling to the island.
QSI Group
QSI Group Limited engaged Gandy-Draper to re-design their existing website and assist with their re-branding, the time-scale being decided upon around a move to larger offices.
The original site had been in existence for some time. It looked dated and was in need of modernising to bring it in line with the professional standing of the company in their industry. Additionally SEO was an important factor in the project as the site figure poorly in Google, largely as the original had been built in frames.
The resulting site is clean, clear and SEO friendly. Gandy-Draper will be undertaking further work on the content and news sections in the future, communicating with the UK based clients via phone, email and face to face meetings.
Daly Building Services
Daly Building Services approached Gandy-Draper to build a website with very clear ideas of what they were looking for in terms of design and what they wanted to achieve. As a long established company on the island they were best known for their ‘Dynamic Ceramics’ brand and were keen to promote their general building and property management services.
The site includes a revolving gallery which features completed work and before and after photographs of past work and the clean design and SEO friendly site achieved a page one position for key search terms on Google within days of launch.
Garaby’s
Garaby’s a Letting Agents based in Wokingham providing residential lettings services throughout the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) approached Gandy-Draper to discuss the re-development of an existing website, having seen a recent site built for another UK based client the Shurlock Inn.
The client wanted an easy to update site that allowed for future growth and making te site SEO friendly was a major consideration. In addition they wanted to use Google maps to highlight the regions they covered with different levels of services to landlords and tenants, as well as needing the images to accompany the content sourcing.
Initially concerned how it might work dealing with web designers in Lanzarote, after a couple of telephone calls the client was suitably reassured and chose to go ahead. The project was successfully managed using email and Skype – and the client is very happy with the results.
Cocinas Direct
Coninas Direct who supply fitted kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms across Lanzarote who have an excellent reputation and obtain most of their business via word-of-mouth, approached Gandy-Draper to supply a website.
The company, who are based in Puerto del Carmen wanted a site that was bold and visual – their aim being to show off photographs in order that they could point prospective clients to the site as an ‘online brochure’ as their first port of call in order to provide an idea of the companies capabilities before visiting thei showroom. As well as, of course, to obtain them new enquiries via the Internet.
The resulting site is clean, easy to use and focusses on the photographic content. In some sites a picture is worth a thoudsand words!
